SNAC Wrist – How to plan my management literature review
Abstract
SNAC wrist (Scaphoid Nonunion Advanced
Collapse) is a pattern of post-traumatic
osteoarthritis in the carpus that occurs after
scaphoid non-union that progresses sequentially
causing pain and functional loss. Due to its late
diagnosis, anatomical or salvage therapeutic
measures must be decided to preserve
functionality. This literature review will focus on
knowing how to identify and stage the injury,
establish a management algorithm for each case,
and compare the available alternatives. We will
review the indications and considerations of the
most frequently used techniques and the support of
the current evidence.
Keywords: SNAC, scaphoid nonunion, wrist
