Reverse shoulder arthroplasty: My indications, tips and tricks
Abstract
Modern reverse shoulder arthroplasty was the treatment of choice for rotator cuff arthropathy at its inception
in 1970s. Since then, there is constant evaluation of its design, shape and accordingly its indications. RSA has
revolutionized the surgical management of shoulder pathologies. Though the newer designs of RSA merits as a one stop
shop for a wide spectrum of shoulder pathologies, if not properly executed in the first go, it can result in complications,
which are very difficult to manage. In my presentation, I will give brief overview of RSA, the pathologies that I manage
with RSA with examples from my own clinical practice. I will also share my experience, tips and tricks of the surgical
technique on how to perform a successful RSA
