Abstract
Belén Forestieri is a 34 years
old doctor, she speaks three languages (Spanish, English and a B1 French), She
has completed her medical studies at the age of 27 years from the Catholic
University of Guayaquil, Ecuador; Since then, she has been doing volunteer
as an English translator for almost 13 years, by working with a group of
American volunteers (orthopedic physicians, anesthesia physicians,
critical care physicians, orthotists, nursery, physiatrist and management
staff) from Project Perfect World Foundation along with Padre Damian
Foundation in Ecuador; this led her into the orthopedic world, awakening her
desire to be an orthopedist. In 2010, she did an internship in the
emergency room from an orthopedic clinic before ending med
school. Subsequently, she worked in the Roberto Gilbert Hospital as an
orthopedic resident for three years where she gained experience working
with children. Then, she got into the specialty of orthopedics in the same
hospital in 2018, where she strengthened her knowledge through surgeries,
medical assessments and by having training periods in other hospitals from the
city. She is currentlycompleting her residency and hopes to do a fellow in
pediatric orthopedics
